Donated blood plasma tested for coronavirus

Eleven survivors of the coronavirus recently donated their blood plasma at Tuba City Regional Health Care in hopes it helps patients recover from COVID-19.

Tuba City hospital on June 24 hosted the first COVID-19 convalescent donation on the Navajo Nation.

“There’s not a lot of treatment options for the coronavirus and convalescent plasma is something that seems more effective than anything else that people are trying right now,” explained Dr. Anne M. Chmilewski, a family physician at TCRHCC’s Sacred Peaks Health Center in Flagstaff.
