WASHINGTON – Margaret Everson, Counselor to the Secretary, exercising the delegated authority of the National Park Service Director, today announced Dorothy FireCloud as the new NPS Native American Affairs Liaison, Assistant to the Director, beginning October 11.
“Dorothy brings 28 years of experience in the important and diverse topics of tribal relations and supporting the Department’s policy on consultation with Indian Tribes,” said Everson. “I’m looking forward to working with Dorothy as she applies her tribal relations experience in her new role overseeing the National Park Service’s Office of Native American Affairs.”
The NPS Office of Native
American Affairs (formerly the American Indian Liaison Office) provides guidance and support to NPS field and program managers to strengthen relationships with Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and other indigenous communities.
