Dr. Calderon Leaves TCRHCC and Joins Keweenaw Bay Indian Community (KBIC) and KBIC Health System

Hopi Times Sophia Calderon

Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (TCRHCC) is sad to see one of their favorite physicians leave but understands that many professionals often leave their home for challenges outside of their comfort zone. Dr. Calderon was active in promoting the great care provided at TCRHCC and was active in recruiting health professionals to the area.

As with many Native American physicians, staying near the place they grew up is not always enough to satisfy the desire to learn and be grow professionally. Dr. Calderon earned her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in 2004 and completed premedical studies in 2005 at Bryn Mawr College. She graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2011.

The staff here at the Hopi Times is happy for Dr. Calderon and wish her the best in this new stage in her career. We would love to hear your stories about Dr. Calderon and how she made an impact in your health care.
