As many of you know, our villages have seen a large increase in the number of positive cases being reported. Although we do not have access to daily numbers from the local health care facility, we are doing research to keep our people updated.
Could the rise in positive cases be attributed to an increase in person-to-person contacts such as graduation parties, dinners, and/or family gatherings?
Or could it be as simple as our people not be adhering to the stay-at-home orders, social distancing, and/or just didn’t think our small community would be affected.
Another possibility could be the increasing number of organizations physically entering the villages to deliver water, food, and other donations. We may never know and this is why contact tracing is very important.
How can we flatten the curve?
Please be safe and remember to wash your hands frequently. Do not touch your face and please wear a mask when in public. Do it for our Hopi Senom. Kwa’kway.
