Hopi Tribe Pandemic Recovery Committee Announcement
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Submitted by: Racheal Povatah, HTPRC Secretary
Kykotsmovi, Ariz. – March 9, 2023 The Hopi Tribe Pandemic Recovery Committee (HTPRC) is pleased to announce progress in deploying the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) on behalf of the Hopi People.
The Committee has begun soliciting initial applications from Villages or other entities that propose to undertake projects using the Fund. The Committee is in the process of developing a template for detailed project plans so that project sponsors will have a road map to ensure that their projects are completed on time.
If you are a small business owner who has experienced hardships due to the Pandemic, please be aware that the above application is not for you. The Committee is discussing how best to provide assistance to small businesses in compliance with Treasury Guidelines. The Committee hopes to make an announcement in the near future.
Finally, the Committee is scheduled to appear before the Tribal Council later this month. The Committee is taking steps towards requesting Council to allow on-line applications for hardship assistance programs such as GWEAP, small business assistance or other programs down the road.”
